The George Halas Trophy is presented to the champions of the National Football Conference.  Some of the teams that have the chance of winning it are the New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, and Minnesota Vikings.

George Halas was a professional football player, coach and owner, who died from pancreatic cancer in October 1983.

Friend or Foe: Favre Faces His Former Team

Favre who currently dons a purple Minnesota Vikings jersey will be lining up against his former team, whom he played 16 seasons with, the Green Bay Packers. He will basically be taking on all of his former players besides one to show that he can make it with yet another team. It won’t be an easy task though considering Green Bay has a prevailing record of 5-1.

Lafayette College Player Earns Football Award

Lafayette Football Awards

Due to Lafayette’s 20-17 overtime win vs. Penn, Junior kicker David Rodriguez and junior linebacker Michael Schmidlein both earned Patriot League honors. Rodriguez was named Special Teams player of the Week while Schmidlein received Defensive Player of the Week honors.

While it was a first conference award for Schmidlein, it was a career thirs for Rodriguez who is 70-0f-74 on PAT’s and 23-of-35 on FG attempts.
